Need help Identifying an Old Light Fixture

I found this old gas station light fixture in the woods, attached to a 12' pole. Can some one tell me what this fixture is called and what type of bulb it would have used? The three lights on top will be removed, but the socket inside is double the size of a normal bulb. I have an old mercury vapor street light bulb that will screw right in but I don't know if the fixture can handle that type of bulb.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I plan to try to restore this light and use at as night light for the front of my garage. I can add more photos if needed.

The big socket under the reflector looks like a Mogul base, it's a larger bulb than what you normally use at home but you can still get them from lighting supply stores. The other three were probably plain old floodlights, used to light up a sign or something.

The lampholders on top use PAR type lamps, the lampholder on the bottom uses a incandescent lamp w/ a mogul base, prob. 300-500 watt.

The socket you have is mogul. There are mogul to medium socket converters. That would let you use a medium socket lamp. Either that or just rewire it with a medium socket, but you would need to get it securely installed. Be sure to bypass the ballast if there is one.

As cool as it is, those bulbs were not efficient and now rather expensive. Are you sure you want to restore it to use those bulbs? I'm thinking the power used would be rather pricy for the light put out.

Are there LED or CFL versions of the bulbs that could be put in there instead?

If that was an incandescent light in the mogul socket, you can easily get adapters in Lowes or Home Depot to use a standard medium base light bulb, either a CFL or a regular bulb. If the bulb is exposed, you might want to use an antique looking bulb, they too are readily available.

I was buying 3 way mogul base bulbs for a floor lamp I have but the electric consumption and heat was tremendous, so I installed an adapter, and now use a very large CFL. A one way adapter and light in a three way socket gives you two clicks on and two clicks off, but works fine other than that.

I saw the adapters just the other day when I was looking for something else.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it definitely has been a help. I found out more about this light, it is a revere harp pump island light. The original bulb was 150 watts, can I get this much lighting from a cfl?I plan to use this fixture as a security light for the front of my garage. If so I will be looking into my options

Are you sure only 150? I've never seen a 150W mogul base lamp before.
Anyway, you can get 100W+ from a 26W CFL. For crazy light get you a 45W (or larger) CFL.
