Need help Identifying Unusual Hand saw marked, "Langbein"

Hi,
I could use some help identifying an old hand saw with an etching marked,
"Langbein". I did find out information about the maker, but have never seen this pattern before and could use help figuring out what it would be used for.

I would think with that curved front it was designed to start a plunge cut and finish with another saw.. Sort of what a recip saw would do now, but with a whole lot smoother hole and finish..

That's a flooring saw. It's used to cut into a tongue and groove floor so a floorboard can be lifted out for repair or replacement.
