ratchets std & long flex head
3/8"dr set std, mm, deep and shallow 6pt
3/8"dr torx drivers,
1/4" dr torx set or insert bit set
you dont have to buy the most expensive sets, but dont buy the cheapest set.
i do like the feel )and price) of duralast ratchets, SK socket sets are nice, probably couldnt go wrong with CM sockets either.
if you have some "budgeted" left over, maybe you could add that to mom, sis, bro, or other relatives budget to get him a toolbox or service cart.
