I am going to have a garage sale at my home in about a month. I have been going through my garage and tool box and going to get rid of stuff I do not use.
I have a RHFT flex head 3/8" ratchet part number 42794. It is used but in very good condition. And a RHFT 1/2" drive ratchet that does not have a part number on it, also in very good condition.

What are they worth?

Also I am looking for a RHFT 3/8" ratchet as mine disappeared!!!!. Sons I guess. Nobody will fess up. :dunno:

Thanks, John

You'll get the highest price off of eBay. I've seen the 1/2 ratchets go for $16-$30. At the local flea markets, I've seen the 1/2 ratchets for $10.

Usually estate sales and garage sales, you expect the prices to be cheaper than flea markets. On Craigslist, you might see prices slightly higher than the flea market.

If you let us know your location, you can probably make a local GJ sale with less hassle for a fair price.

The last two 3/8" RHFT flex heads on eBay (that I saw) went for ~$260 and ~$210 respectively. Both of those were of course in pretty much new condition. Regular 1/4" and 3/8" RHFT seem to go for between $20-40 and 1/2" $15-30 (on eBay).

Local hock shop has a couple but they are broken

Cripe distributing used to have some rebuild kits. I don't think the kits were branded "craftsman," if memory serves.

This was just one of Danaher's basic designs. Ratchets with this, or a very similar, mechanism were branded EASCO, K-D, Allen, Craftsman, Armstrong and probably others.

Sears replaced my 3/8" reg drive that is now lost but I had to go 125 miles to the sears store to get it! The local mom & pop sears here doesn't have much.

$216---WOW I have a like new one also that I was going to keep but maybe will sell it instead!

Hmm, I have a Snappy flex head and I didn't think it would be worth much being older. I never liked it much except for leverage. Seems it would swing when I didn't want it to. Guess I was just use to universals.

Who knows?
I bought one similar to your flex head for $15 bucks a while back but yours might be a bit older than mine is. Got a pic of the top side of it?

The E-bay seller of the $269 flexie can ask any price he wants, but that does not mean it will sell.

that sounds like one of those guys who tries to hype his item up to sell it to some unsuspecting buyer.

BUT STILL that is a lot more than i would have asked at my garage sale!

Thanks all for the valuable advice. I have sold the flex ratchet to a member here. I guess I will sell the 1/2" ratchet at my garage sale.
I just learn so much eveytime I get on this forum. I wish I had more time to spend here.
Thanks, John

There isn't a ratchet in the world worth more than 100 dollars IMO. I guess people have alot of money to throw away:eyecrazy:

Snap-on SF80A, imo, is worth its weight in gold. There are ratchets out there that will make your life easier and wrenching more enjoyable.

On other forums it is considered bad manners to say how much and item sold for by the seller. It is for the buyer to say it he chooses.

you have too rember , e bay has fees on top of your sellers fees and could get spendy as too how you list your tools, so for example you list a wrench, time all the dust clears , paying everyboby, that 15 you got for wrench is now down too 6.00 after fees,
