Any one recognize this? The large stationary casters are a first for me.

Thanks.

No, Mine's a Blackhawk alright, but I don't think that one is. I'm no expert. Mine's different than that for sure. Yours has an upper rail or backstop around the top.
Is it like this one?

Thank you for sharing that advertisement. I, in fact, do own the red one. I would very much like to see a photo of your Blackhawk box. It was part of the Vintage Tool boxes thread but the photo was removed. I chose it as one of my very favorite boxes. See my thread below.

This particular box that began this thread was for sale locally for $200.00. I thought it had originally the same type(s) of rods (handles) that yours has but I was mistaken. Nearest I could tell after looking at the box was that it was some industrial cart. It was in really rough shape so I passed on it. Thanks again for sharing.

OKAY, I see you have my name on your list Thanks for the honor!. Gawrsh. Thanks for the kind words.

These are catalog shots of the two boxes I have. I'm trying to gear up to to refinish both of them with new paint.

For some reason I can't find my shots of the real ones.

Sure would like to find the lamp. I think I recall seeing it as a little kid somewhere around our garage. My dad may have screwed it to my little work bench even. THAT would have been a long time ago! :lol_hitti

I'll keep looking

You're welcome. Going back to your original ad that has my red Blackhawk... what time frame would you place that?

I've always wondered when they were made.

I'm not the one to ask, but Twertsy or Old Tule guy would probably know. I believe they have those Blackhawk boxes as well and also the catalogs and research. Early 50's late 40's as I remember.

Thanks.
My pops and I picked this up today. Would never have given it a second look if it wasn't for this thread. Hope the label provides some insight.

That's perfect! Is it missing a drawer?

That confirms my earlier question that it might be a DIY modification. It's not. Good score. I hope you got a deal. Let us know what your plans are for it.

I like it!

It's missing two drawers actually one right above the big wheels and one up a drawer or so. We paid $50 for it so it's a deal in my books. Around here you either find a crazy good deal where the roller needs tons of work or they are super expensive. My pops is moving and plans on putting it in his garage. Should serve him well. Was able to roll it easily over gravel. It was in use at
American Sterilizer/ Steris Corp for some years before the previous owners father brought it home. I don't believe he has any plans on doing restoring of it at this time. I think finding the missing drawers would be very difficult. Soon as he moves it into his new place I'll post some better pictures of the drawers and slides and such.

Tough to find anything on this company. The earliest listing I find for them is 1961. I find them as a Div. of Craft Industries in 1965, as well as their trademark for that logo, linked here.

Thank you. I had been up very late last night trying to find anything and wasn't having luck. Very much appreciated. Hopefully we are going back to the guy that sold the roller and buying a big old craftsman crown top drill press today.
