I need to buy a male plug for my welding machine to plug into this outlet.

But I’m hoping not to have to buy one of these style plugs where the blades can go multiple directions.

Is there a good high quality plug that I can buy that is only made for the one receptacle?

I used a plug exactly like the OP posted, wired in 6-50 configuration, purchased at Lowes, for my bandsaw. No issues. It isn't pulling what the current a welder would, but I personally wouldn't have any concern with it.

why would you put a 6-50p on a bandsaw?

Whats the HP rating on the bandsaw motor?

I have a lone 220v plug in the garage. It is normally in use for the welding equipment, hence 50A. Bandsaw pulls nowhere near that.

The bandsaw may not be designed for a 50A circuit. What size is the cord? To start with it would need to be at least 12 if this is on a 50 breaker. Many modern welders now are on circuit st with 30A breakers, this changes things a bit.

In hindsight I probably should have bought this one to eliminate the cord angle. The quality of the strait one is incredible.

Obviously the wires are connected to them. I want the feel of a molded end (or as close to it as I can get). Just because a cheap plastic end with terminals that wiggle around is acceptable to some doesn’t mean that it meets the standards of others. Some people accept mediocrity at the sake of cost and others don’t.
