Hey it my first post. Great website. I am needing more storage. Thinking of building a pull barn. I have a lumber jack, miss dig and an excavator all coming to look at site. Not much flat area . I am interested in putting 20x30 ish building up. First pic is proposed area. Second pic is a more wooded area behind first location. Need to be 50' feet from property line. All suggestions would be a appreciated. Thanks

I finally had an excavator guy come out and take a look. We found another location that is higher up to put pull barn. Builder and tree guy have not showed up yet. We discussed cutting down the high ground. Pushing excess dirt to lower area of property to level for parking. Including ripping out huge stumps and burying them. His rough guess on price was 2k. I will try to update with pics. Thinking a 30 x30. Thanks

You've gone from 20x30 to 30x30 in two posts. Just do a 40x60........

From the pics, that looks like a pretty mild slope. You should be able to cut down the high half and use the material to build up the low half. This will save on material costs Just make sure your dirt guy builds the lower end up in multiple lifts and compacts each one. The poles typically need to be set in native soil. In my location, I had to have a soil compaction test to allow setting the posts in fill.
Get a detailed estimate in writing. Does 2K include gravel, any trenching, etc.
You mention "storage", but think of things like power and water. Will you run a sub-panel from house or separate line from PUD. Distance from source matters.

Keep us posted on your plans

On ANY slope, you need to manage the water ! Gravity wins every time, so you need to give water a path AWAY from your structure.
