Need Help! Radiant Heat Layout

I have attached a copy of the layout for my radiant heat. The yellow wall are all exterior facing walls. The wall on the right is going to be attached to an existing building.

I have incorporated some suggestions I recieved in another post.

This Layout

- 6 Circuits - Lengths (TL - Pink) - 215 ft, (TC - Orange) - 213 ft, (TR - Red) - 208 ft, (BL - Brown) - 215 ft, (BC - Blue) - 213 ft, (BR - Green) - 210 ft.

- I tried to get each circuit the same amout of coverage to an exterior wall.


Looking for any input that anyone has.

I see you've got the spacing a little closer on the outside walls, which is good. Just pay attention to which you designate as your supply and return in regards the the lines as they run down the middle of the shop. You could end up with two supplies next to each other and two returns next to each other which will create hot and cold spots. A big deal ? Not really. Being in the middle of the slab, they should pretty much even out anyway, but I'd avoid it if I could.

Good thinking. I am in the process of adding arrows for flow and I see what you are talking about. I am going to have to rework the Top and Bottom corners on the right side. I will post a new drawing when it is done.

Ok, here is another drawing. I have put arrows on the lines to show flow direction.

The only place where I have a multiple supply/return(s) together would be the very center of my layout. I have two supply lines running down the center. I don't think it would be a big deal.

Check this out and see if make sense.

Longest Circuit Lenght - 215 FT
Shortest Circuit Lenght - 208 FT

What size tubing and what spacing are you using ?

If something would happen to one circuit, (and hope it never does,) you will have a large area without heat.

I have 12 runs in the shop zone, and they all intermingle, so even if one loop has to be shut off, there's no more than a 24" distance between lines.

It was professionally drawn out, and easy to follow when we laid the tubing.

Tim,
What size tubing and what spacing are you using ?

I am going with 1/2" Pex B and for the most part everything is 12" apart except for the lines closest to the exterior walls. They are 6" apart.
