I have a trolley jack and it isn’t lifting as high as it used to. I think it has lost some fluid. What is the proper procedure for refilling the jack? There is the screw (valve) which you turn on the front to release the pressure, and I also found a small plug which is labeled "do not adjust" I assume this will be something like bleeding my brakes where I need to do filling accompanied with pumping.

I'd hate to buy another jack when I'm pretty sure a couple bux of hydraulic fluid will fix this.

Usually there is a rubber plug or a screw 3/4 the way up the side. With the jack collapsed, remove this plug and add oil through the hole until it overflows, then reinstall the plug or screw. BTW, this must be done with the jack collapsed or you will over fill it

Thanks! Worked like a charm. I would never have found it that high up if I didn't know to look for it.
