Hello fellow tool fanatics, long time no post. Please read whole post before replying. I know I can use my phone to remote desktop my pc and vice versa.

I have a Samsung Note 3 unrooted(willing to root if necessary), and what I want to do is leave it connected to my amplifier and charger and control it with my Note 5(not willing to root, for now). I don't want a long audio cable running across the room. What I mainly want to do is use youtube for music. I reckon if i can use youtube other audio media apps would work as well but don't really care.

Please don't post just use a chromecast connected to a TV and connect the tv to the amp. If I wanted this solution I would have already done it.

Another possible option maybe to connect the chromecast to the TV and set it up on the network. Disconnect it and reconnect it to a rca converter which can connect to the amp. I just do not know if the chromecast will be happy operating this way. I don't really like this option because it limits me to the chromecast app library but it will accomplish my main goal of listening to youtube.

I want to control the phone via wifi not bluetooth so i can be over 100 ft away and still control the Note 3.

Thanks for reading the whole post, hope your garage sale hunting went well this weekend.

Is this the right forum for a question like this? I would think you'd have better luck at anandtech or avsforum

I have a 3/4" hex head bolt I need to tighten, but I only want to use a pizza cutter and an alligator.

Seriously, the chromecast will do what you want. If you only want audio, get the youtube audio app, and use an audio channel on the amp (what amp?). Home theater receivers still come with tape and cd player channels last I checked. If you might ever want video, your receiver may have an hdmi port that would pass audio to speakers and video to the TV.

When I lived in Morocco I tried to rig a lot of things due to an entirely different market there, and all the things would have been easier to pack up my 2 year old, fly home, buy the chromecast and a $100 receiver, and fly back.

This alligator must be defective.
