I got a great deal on a Quincy air compressor, because it was a 3 phase unit. I just purchased a 5HP single phase 220 Baldor motor to install on it, and after speaking to the good folks at Quincy, they recommend a 7" single groove pulley for the application. The pulley that I removed from the original motor is a Browning BK62H, which according to Quincy was too small for the compressor to run at the advertised CFM. I did some searching on both eBay, and the internet to see what is available, in a 7" pulley. After looking at a number of sites, I believe that the pulley that I need is a BK72H. My questions are, can I use the same wedge bushing that was in the BK62H, or do I need to purchase another one? The second question is, some of the 7" pulleys are solid cast, and others are three spoke. Is there a difference, and which is better? Is it safe to assume that the BK indicates the belt groove? The motor shaft is 1 1/8" and the bushing that I have is a Browning model H. The new motor has the same shaft size as the original.

The H in the pulley part number indicates it takes an H bushing. Both pulleys have it so your existing bushing will work
