Hello all! Years ago I saw a door double-screen on a neighbor's patio screen door that was pretty good. Basically the screen door had 2 screens on it, inside & outside. On the inside of the screen door, using the grove that came with/in the screen door the guy had hardware cloth, which his pets couldn't destroy (easily). But on the outside of the screen door, it was just regular window screen. On the outside of the door, the the guy had installed some type of flat aluminum strip that had a "U" shaped channel popping up that the used to push in the spline that held the window screen on. I don't know if that outside aluminum strip was supposed to be used for putting screens on something, but it worked great. We now have some inside cats and they have been tearing up our screens on a daily basis. Instead of putting up more window screen just to have to replace it every few weeks, I thought of doing the 'double-screen method', but I can't find that aluminum strip with the spline groove any where. Anyone here know? Thanks in advance for all help, advice and suggestions (and "NO", as much as I would like to, I can't get rid of the cats)
