need help... vintage rolling craftsman tool chest

Could be a early 70s tool chest. The lock was drilled out sometime ago and I need help finding the #s off the chest and finding a replacement lock and key. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Try and call Waterloo toolboxes. They actually are the company who make the toolboxes for craftsman, husky,ect. That's where I got my new locks from. There very helpful! I sent them pics of the boxes I had and they matched the locked and keys to the ones in my newer tool box so now I only have to use one key for all my tool chests! And it was very inexpensive. I think I pairs 30 bucks for 4 locks with keys shipped. Just google Waterloo and there website should pop up!

Does it have to be Craftsman? Any locksmith will have a lock set to replace it or try Ebay, there is a guy who deals primarily with Craftsman Locks. You can also try jeffmoss26, I hear he's got some sick fetish with locks

I found with one of my Craftsman chests that the locks are not the normal run of the mill type. Some are custom for the purpose. On mine it is the cam that was modified. It is possible to modify a lock, but sometimes not worth the effort. Individual choice as to whether you want to wait or not. My experience with Waterloo is excellent an my parts arrived in just a couple of days.

If I remember correctly that lock was similar to a file cabinet lock that you pushed in to lock it.It's been a while since I had one of these. That's in really nice shape.

I tried eBay with no luck. Tried multiple searches.

w/ the oblong hole a file cabinet style lock just might work. of course if you've got a mom & pop hardware store in yer town check there 1st. if not check H-D or lowes. they usually have a good selection.
heck it don't cost nothin' to look unless you look in the tool section also, I rarely get out of there empty handed

I've got a few hardware stores around. Amish have one mile down the road haha. Thats a good idea to check those places.
