I have been offered this vise but I have never heard of a removable static jaw. Is this a repair or attempt the customize:dunno:

I can buy it but I am only interested if it is original. Can you guys help me with this.

Thanks,

Wes

That is indeed and original feature for that vise. There are a few examples of a Wilton swivel jaw in the "Vises of the Garage Journal" thread. It is a pretty rare vise as far as Wilton's go.

It looks to be in decent condition. I would try to snap that up quickly. How much are they asking?

$250 but I have not seen it in person yet so I am not sure of the condition. It doesn't look too bad from the photo but I didn't know they made that configuration.

Thanks for the help I will post the outcome!

You haven't bought it, yet???

The jaw "swivels" to enable the clamping of oddly shaped items...

The only reason to "remove" the jaw, would be, to clean it, etc...

Restored, those are really nice...

I hadn't even seen it yet. I got those two photo's by text message on my phone and no text:shocking:

Turns out it was a guy I talked to before about an old vise that was scrap and passed on. I told him to keep me in mind if he found any others.

He did and now is mine.

Big thanks to "WhoWhaNow" because I hadn't seen a Wilton swivel jaw before :lol_hitti

I will post more picks on the "Vises of the Garage Journal"
