Hopefully a really simple question. I have a compressor that runs a ½ impact gun. The coupler that connects the hose to the impact gun broke. I measured its inner diameter and it is ½ inch. With this in mind, I ordered:

Milton S1815 G-Style Coupler - 1/2" NPT Female

I received the item today and it is too big. The inner diameter seems to be ¾” which I find confusing. I have attached images. Any help in determining the correct part would be appreciated. Thx

Ricky... so you know... you are not alone. Pipe measurements are different. I keep a chart with "measured size" and "Named size" for just such situations.

I got burned when I was restoring an antique floor lamp with a busted "Flange"... kept asking for the measured size... and getting something WTF... the lamp now sits restored in my nieces house...

I just did this last week. I have always had trouble figuring out which of the several types of QC couplers I had so I took a male fitting to the store with me and bought one that fit it.

Yep, the whole threaded black gas pipe, cast galvanized, and PVC stuff can be a hassle. I worked the plumbing section in a hardware store yrs ago and we were forever having to tell customers that the best thing was to bring at least part of what they were working with into the store (4 a match up).
