Need help with an old B&D hand drill

Hey Y’all. Sorry, I meant B&D not Craftsman.
I picked this drill up today and got Her run’n
but I think I’m missing something. If I hold
Her up to the sky the bit will spin fwd & rev
but if I try to drill on a piece of wood, the
bit doesn’t move. Am I missing something?
Remember, I’m new to these Old Gals so I don’t know.
Thanks for your help.

It isn't a drill. A drill would have a direct connection from chuck to gearing; a screw gun usually has a spring loaded chuck.
From the photos, it appears to be missing the nosepiece that determines the depth the screw is set to. if it works when pointed up, there's a good chance the clutch spring is missing, too.

You can use the gun without the nosepiece, but you'll need to figure out the clutch spring. The likelihood of finding the requisite parts is slim, too be honest.
