Well, during transport of my toolbox, it fell in the truck. Several drawers opened but one drawer caught on something and it bent. Now the drawer will not close. I tried to straighten it without any success. Any idea how to get it working again? How about how to take it out? Are replacement drawers available? Any help appreciated.

That looks tweaked pretty good! To get the drawer out, you will have to move the clips out of the way with a small flat blade screwdriver in the area circled in orange. The clips are behind the rails and can be moved out of the way through that small opening in the circles area. You will need to depress the clip, and then pull the drawer outward. There is a clip on each side. After you get the drawer out, then you can see what got bent, and hopefully massage it back into shape.

I got it out. I tried to straighten out the drawer without success. Is there anyone here that can create another drawer? I could send this one to them with the slides. Then maybe they could reuse the front as suggested above. I just don't know anyone that works with sheet metal.

***** about the crash, but I do agree that the drawer can be straightened. it would be best to have the box with the drawer so once its real close you can keep trying it , massaging it as necessary . a half decent body guy or someone with half decent forming sheet metal skills would whip that off in an hour or two .

Check with your local vo-ed school and see if they have an auto body shop class. The class instructor might take it on as a class project or, at the very least, he may be able to recommend a local body shop.

Why didn't you strap the box to the sides of the truck bed and lock the drawers with the key before moving? If you had this wouldn't be a topic here.

Well, the drawers were facing the side wall of the truck. The top box was slid to the wall also. Then the top box was strapped and the bottom was also strapped - separately to the wall. The top strap gave way thus causing the top to fall.

Wow. Was the strap all frayed and ready to break? Even a one inch strap is good for 1500-2000 lbs.

Holy ****, what on earth did you use on the side piece that now looks like saw teeth?

The bend closed that lip. All I had was a screwdriver to try to open it back open. :)

Have you gone to the Sears Parts website and checked to see if a drawer might possibly be available ?????

I did go to the website and try to find it but I don't know which toolbox it is. I can't find the model number on it. On some of the upper units I did find on the website, the drawers have been discontinued.

Thanks for checking.
will this do you any good?
I've been up all night, I'm too tired to compare, it would take me a half hour, would take you two minutes.
Maybe you could modify it? IIRC he will ship.
EDIT; you will have to modify it.

Thanks for this. Not sure I could make it as small as it would need to be.

I did find someone in the sheet metal business to give it a go at straightening mine. They did a pretty good job and while it fits, it is really stiff when trying to slide it in or out. He didn't have the toolbox to work with - just the drawer. I can't take it all back to him because he is located where we moved from. Since the drawer is close to fitting, I plan on really looking at it and try to determine why its stiff and fix it. Need to finish getting moved into our new home first.

If anyone comes up with a used box with a good used drawer with the dimensions listed above, please let me know.

If you can find the Craftsman part number or box serial number you may be able to order a new drawer from the Craftsman parts site. I had good luck working with them a few years ago when I wanted to reconfigure the drawer layout on my big toolbox.
