Need help with epoxy project

I have been reading all of the epoxy project threads and I think I am ready to start on epoxying my garage floor using epoxy-coat. However, I had a few questions.
1. I am in Florida and temperatures are in 90s. Is this going to cause me problems like faster hardening time for the epoxy ?

2. I noticed a few cracks in the concrete that have been there since we moved in ? How should I tackle these cracks ? Fill them using acrylic caulk ?

Thanks.

With the higher temps in Florida, I usually recommend applying early in the day before it gets too hot.
You can fill the cracks with acrylic caulk, for the spalled or pitted areas, you can use the epoxy alone or with a fiber filler we have.
Let me know if you need anything else on this.

When you say 'for the spalled or pitted areas, you can use the epoxy alone' - do I have the first fix the pitted areas with epoxy before applying it to the whole floor or will applying the epoxy on the whole floor cover up the pitted/spalled ares.

Thanks for the response.

I would first fix the spalled/ pitted areas, then coat over the entire floor. You can use the epoxy alone for small stuff. I would consider fiber filler if you have large or deep gouges.

Good post, I am in South Carolina and would like to paint and/or epoxy my floor also. I also have similar cracks and voids that have appeared as the house has settled.

Floor prep almost done. Filled cracks and expansion joints with Sikaflex self leveling sealant. I also painted the stem wall with black floor paint.

However, it's been almost two weeks since I washed the floors and the floor may have dust/sand on them.

Should I rewash the floor or just blow away the sand with a leaf blower prior to putting on the epoxy ?

Thanks.
