need help with floor

Ok the short version , I am a jail guard that has a special job. I do all kinds of stuff including floors. Well we are in the process of changing an old bus garage into a housing area. I have used proclaim cement sealer in several areas and it looks great but when liquid sits on it it peels like a sunburn. So the powers that be want me to do the old cement floors in the garage and make them "pretty". any suggestions on a coating that is resistent to chemicals? it does not have to shine but that would be a bonus. Money and color choices are not that important.thanks for any help.

What type of chemicals?

Everyone here just about has a different opinion on which epoxy works the best, but I have used epoxies extensively and have had the greatest success with UCoat It epoxy. It has good adhesion and chemical resistance against most fluids and even acids. The floor prep is the key- take your time to do it right! Research each product to make sure it is the best for your needs.

Since it is going in a Jail Housing unit....I guess Vomit, Feces, and Urine count towards the fluids and acid you are talking about....

I did my floor in my garage with Butterfield Color Guard in Gull Gray color. It's been down since about the first of May and it's holding up great. It's easy to hose down and mop. You'll have to prep the floor as any coating but I'd recommend it for what your wanting to do. They are located in Aurora, IL.

I don't know what to use to make them pretty, but I suspect that an old garage will have oil and such on the floor. Prep will be the key.The oil needs to be eradicated. I suggest mechanical removal. I know there is a primer available that is supposed to contain the oil, but I haven't seen its long term effectiveness, yet.

All of the oil and stuff has been professionally cleaned. the floor will still need basic prep work,I am hoping the powers that be will say "its a jail leave it cement." but that probably will not happen. as far as what chemicals bleach is the main one but we use alot of industrail cleaners. And yes body fluids and such are allways a posibility.
