I have a harbor freight framing nailer (air powered) that shoots a couple nails at a time (like stutter or a three round burst). Does anyone have a suggestion how to fix it?

Two recomendations

Either take it back and try to recoupe your money.

Or throw it out. I dont think there is going to be any good fix for it.

Hit the search button. There juist was a thread on nail guns.

In the Harbor Freight thread on here, people say they have had good luck with some of their pneumatic guns. I wouldn't throw it out just yet.

Hopefully, someone who knows these types of guns will chime in...I don't know how to fix what you are describing.

There is a interlock that should only allow you to fire a nail when; 1. the trigger is pulled. AND, 2. the gun is in contact with the wood. Something is hung-up and binding. Go back through and check/lube/smooth the trigger mechanism and the contact at the tip of the gun. With most HF stuff, the finish can be bad. All it takes is some rough spot to bind and it does what you are seeing. That said I have a couple of HF nailers. Including a Framer, once I tuned it up, its been great for me. Good luck!
