Need help with hardware for metal cabinets

I recently picked up some solid metal base cabinets. I'm in the process of cleaning them up, planning fresh paint and screws.

There is a problem - one of the cabinet doors had a catch on it, but the plastic part broke when I tried removing it. Combination of brittle plastic and my lack of carefulness. The last two photos show the broken plastic piece up close and the hole on the inside face of the metal cabinet where it fits.

Problem is I have no idea what this little catch is called (type) or where to get a replacement. I see plenty online for wood cabinets, but this one sat flush on the inside surface of the metal cabinet door and the metal part friction fit inside of it.

The larger catch is off the other base cabinets. There is a place on this base cabinet to mount one, but again I am at a loss for what specifically it is called and where to find another.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I picked up 2 metal wall cabinets and they use the same type of catch. No help in finding replacements for the OP but I will tag along and hope someone can help both of us!

Kevin, I searched Google for your image and have a new lead. Can't believe I didn't think of it before. Looks a lot like a dryer door catch/strike kit. Now just to find one that will fit in the square hole on my cabinet door.

Still looking for the other type of catches too (bigger one with spring), if anyone has the answer. Thanks

What manufacturer made the cabinets?

RV cabinets use lots of types of door latches. Also copier door latches too or office furniture.

I did lots of looking and couldn't fins a match.

My grand daughter gave me a pair of full height storage cabinets like businesses use for office supplies. Both had broken handles/locks that hold the doors closed. I found the exact replacement parts at the "PC Furniture Store" and the price was less than RV suppliers. Their web site isn't all that intuitive and requires a bit of searching but they might have what you are looking for.

Found a little more info. I can't see any markings on the cabinets other than stickers from paint inspection and handwritten markings regarding sizes, although I did find what looks like a shipping label from St. Charles Mfg. Co. in Illinois. Looks like they were bought out by American Specialties. Labels say "Fourth Class Mail," not sure if that means the cabinets were shipped via US Postal Service or when.

There are two separate stamps on some of the hardware. The catches for the cabinet doors (with the springs shown above) show a logo and NLCO. I think that might stand for National Lock Co., but not sure.

Anyone have old hardware catalogs for NLCO?

The hinges mention a patent and some symbol probably from the company with an A in a circle.
