Hello all! I have been pouring over this wonderful forum now for a littl ebit as a guest and decided to join a little while ago.

I have a three car attached garage that the builder wired with TWO 110 outlets and three incadescent light fixtures (100 watt bulbs), one for each bay. To say the lighting is far from whats needed is a understatement.

I wont be doing any painting out in the garage but pleanty of welding, chassis fab, general vehicle modification... I need light and I'd like to have some air circulation so when its time to install the heater I have that area covered.

What I would like to do is run three of the quad T8 fixtures in the first two bays and two quads in the third bay where the lift will be. The walls of the garage are all finished floor to ceiling as well. Is three quads in each of the first two bays overkill or about right? Would two in each bay be enough for general work lighting? I'm not looking to light the garage up like the sun but I dont want to not have enough either!

Would the box stores be the best place for these fixtures or have you guys found a place online that has a better price?

I appreciate the help!!!

Jason

I would go with 3 in each bay.
The one extra isn't going to be all that much.
Don't forget you will want a portable to use under the car on the lift.
The apx $10.00 big box ones seem to be getting good reviews lately.
