Need Help with patio

We purchased our house almost 2 years ago and have went through the whole renovation process and turning towards the back yard. One of the previous owners extended the patio and overhang to install a spa and it looks like they must of had some type of astroturf or carpet glued down. The problem is, it looks like they must of used some type of self leveler or I dont know what. There are so many stains and imperfections I was going to use the Behr Deckover or some type of epoxy paint just to hide and clean up the patio but this spot I do not know what to do with or handle.

Any suggestions?

Grind it well. Trowel down a good cementitious overlayment that is able to accept a stain.
Post application, stain and seal it.

Nice opportunity to make a "grand floor" for your outdoor area.
