I'm looking to purchase PVC tile flooring for my garage, but the problem I'm running into is that I'm looking for flat tiles. I found a few places that have them but I was hoping to get some advice on which companies to look at and why, due to personal experience.

Thanks,
Bryan

Are you looking for something like the Race Deck tiles, or are you looking for something like vinyl tiles that are glued down? The glue downs are VCT which is the acronym for Vinyl Composite Tile.

Oh, and BTW....Welcome to the site and welcome another fellow Buckeye!!!

Thanks for the Buckeye welcome!!

I'm looking for a RaceDeck type of tile, just without the diamond or circle tread. Flat as possible is preferred.

We offer a smooth PVC but it is made in the UK not here. We also offer the Ultra Flat polypropylene. Both sets of garage floor tiles work very well. The one thing I like about our Premium Ultra Flat is we guarantee it will not permanently stain.

We also have a smooth top modular flooring we manufacture called Base Tile, our economy multi-purpose flooring. We generally do not sell for garage flooring as most want some sort of tread pattern for traction. If you are set on a smooth topped surface, we are happy to send you a sample tile at no charge

Are there any other differences or disadvantages to the Base Tile vs the Diamond? What about cost?

I am not familiar with base tile. We offer the smooth which actually has a light texture. You really need some texture for traction. Diamond is great too but after standing on it for 10 hours a day at SEMA I'm all for the flat.

Base Tile Vs. Diamond

Traction - Our Diamond offers more traction than that of a smooth surface. The tread pattern is engineered for the best traction, and rolling wheel movement
Cosmetic - this is subjective, but a top Diamond pattern design is far more popular and in my opinion much more cosmetically appealing
Cost - Base Tile wins out here as from a small margin
Rolling Loads - The RaceDecK diamond, Rev & Circletrac will handle vehicle rolling loads in excess of 80,000 lbs. The Base Tile comes in at about 45,000 lb vehicle rolling loads
Clean ability- The base tile with no tread and smooth surface is very easy to clean, it is not textured because once dirt and grime get imbedded in the texture surface, its very difficult to clean. The 'Single" diamond tread design is also engineered to be easy to clean with lower profile single treads where dirt and oil will not get trapped.
Manfuacturing - both are manufactured right here under one roof in our ISO quality certified facility.
