I picked up this torch set up for $20 today. I know that the regulators are prest-o-lite. The torch is a Victor. I will clean it up this weekend and check everything out. Does anybody have any info on this? I will use it in the shop for small jobs. I know that it is an older set. Will they fill these tanks at a welding supply? I like the little cart. Check out the chrome center caps.

Nice find. I bought a used Victor and had to replace 1 or 2 o-rings (can't remember) but other than that all good. Any supplier should refill or exchange your tanks provided they are in good shape.

the ace. is a standard "B" tank should be about 35 to exchange, oxy looks to be like a MC size, Personally I would exhange the oxy for a little bigger bottle. But the B tank will be fine for home use.

Looks pretty old.

Wonder when the tanks were last hyrdo tested. Gas supplier won't fill or exchange them without a current stamp on the bottles. But not a big deal, most places will test and stamp them for a few bucks. And yeah, you're going to run out of oxygen quickly, good rule of thumb is oxy bottle twice size of acetylene bottle.

Regulators, stand to the side when you first crack those tanks. You never know. Then perform leak check on them. If they are bad, usually they can be rebuilt far cheaper than buying new. Usually cheaper to send them out than have gas/welding supplier do it. But by all means get a quote.

I'd also check over those hoses. If they are cracking or brittle, replace 'em.

I don't see any caps in your pics, you should remove regulators and screw on metal caps for transport. Most don't do it but breaking down the tanks after every use is the smart move, and IIRC law acording to OSHA. Again, you never know.

Any place such as airgas will fill those tanks. Nice find buddy. I use my mini set all the time. Mostly because I'm too cheap to invest in larger bottles. Some regulators require an adapter so that they can be used on the mini bottles. I know that my victors do. The adapter needs to be removed to be used on the bigger bottles. Enjoy.

Nice find, at a super low price! They are a little mis-matched, but you can always up-size the oxy bottle if needed. As mentioned, if you take them into a gas dealer, they may charge for a hydro, if they are due. I believe it is 10 years between, and the last time I had it done (25 years ago), it was 10 bucks each. I learned that if you can take them into your local HVAC supply house, they will exchange them without even looking at the hydro date, in my neck of the woods. I would keep an eye out for a spare set of bottles, as they come in handy if you do allot of HVAC, and Plumbing work, amoung other things.
