I am an 18 year old student at Universal Technical Institute, I'm studying Auto/Diesel Industrial, Ford F.A.C.T. and going to add Cummings and the Daimler Truck systems. I am looking for tools so i can work on my own car and my friends car's, also looking for diesel tools that'll help me, but not a big rush on them. Any help on what brand of tools to get and which ones to get will be greatly appreciated, also i am a NOOB to this forum so if i put this in the wrong spot tell me where to put it and i will.

I would post here in the General tool discussion board. I graduated from NTI and really hated I didn't take advantage of the %50 off tool discount from snap on. This is going to be your best bet. A few professionals auto tech can help you a little better on what starter kit may be best for the field you are going into. My biggest suggestion to you is to **** up to every teacher, and learn as much as you can. Teachers give out recommendations for furthering your education sometimes at no cost depending on the after programs. I threw away a great opportunity dont let this happen to you.

I wish I had taken advantage too, but the SO dealer got in a feud with SO over the plan and it ended at my school.

Look for an industrial supplier in your area. I couldn't afford the truck tools, but found a shop that sold industrial tools for 40% off.
