Need help

I'm a newbie here and I'm looking for some advice. I've got a 28x28 detached garage we're to attach to the house. Here's the problem the garage is on a slab and there are no frost walls. Yes I'm from Maine and frost is a potential problem. I would like to know if there is a way to attach a breezeway open or enclosed without worrying about lifting and moving to the structures from the frost. We were thinking about attaching the garage to the house via a ridgepole connecting the 2 roofs. We are operating on a shoestring buget so putting in frost walls is not an option at the moment. Any advice would appreciated.

Consider this a bump. I am in Wisconsin, and our house has a full basement, and the garage was built about 15' away from it on a slab with 2 courses of block on top of it. Then previous owner put down about a 4' frost wall between the two and filled it in (breezeway). I only know all this from renovations, and neighbors stories. Breezeway floor was insulated with 1 1/2" foam (on top) with plywood added over the top of 1 1/2" "sleepers" and tiled. It's been finished now for 4 years and it is fine. Previously I wanted to expand the garage on the other side (now under city regs), and inspector required expansion to be on a frost wall. So I had a 4' concrete wall poured to make them happy. Neither side seems to move that I am aware of. Is this the proper way?????????????
