A recent find that's got me wondering.

It reads: "Chev. Motor Div." Des Moines Iowa"

The toolbox has a dealership stamp that is unledgable under the "Des Moines".

From the construction it looks to me like 30's-40's, is heavy construction, with stainless steel handles.

Box measures: 32" Long, 9,1/4" Wide, 10,1/4" Tall.

Has handles on top, and on one end. Was constructed with handle only on one end.

For some reason I seem to remember some Chevy issue alignment tools coming in a box like this.

Input please!!

Thanks, Chris.

Chevrolet Motor Division had a parts warehouse (now refered to as an SPO) in Des Moines. It likely came from that facility and was used by reps or service managers who traveled the state to deal one on one with customers and dealerships.

Chris,
That's really interesting. I have the same exact box but without the stenciling on it. It has been in my family as long as I can remember, early 50's ? My Dad had it for woodworking tools and that's still what I use it for. I would bet it was a generic tool box that somebody made and was used for many different purposes.

Really apprieciate all input, but I tend to agree with "Maynard9089". Mainly because of the location reference and the Embossed/Stamped impression on the box.
