Need ideas for a mounting bracket to store a bottle jack

I'm adding a spare tire to a box truck as well as a jack. Found a bracket for storing the spare inside the box but don't see anything for this jack that I would put on the floor against the wall.

It's about 3 1/2" in diameter and closest thing I could find are fire extinguisher brackets like this.

Suppose I could put together something with hooks and a bungee cord but want something that looks professional. Anyone make a bracket specifically for bottle jacks?

if you make a bracket, make sure it will hold the lug wrench too.

That extinguisher bracket is basically what holds the bottle jack in my ford

I've had good luck with the fire extinguisher brackets that use the beaded rubber straps. Two straps set up would keep your handle with the jack as well. I used these types in my mobile truck in Alaska and the straps held up well in the cold.

What ever you come up with please post a pic. Probably lots of jacks bouncing around in a truck or trailer could use some securing.

I'd probably think about one of the various rubber clamps from Quick Fist. There are a lot of options, and their products are pretty tough.

Sierra Expeditions (a company I've done business with and have been happy with) have a Quick Fist assortment for about 40 bucks. But there are many other Quick Fist products from many vendors you could look at as you evaluate options.

If it’s going to sit on the floor in the corner of your truck box I would weld or bolt a semi circle like this ( appropriately sized of course) and just drop it in.

Stuff a rag in to minimize rattle.

Just drill a 2 small holes on the bottom corners of the jack. 2 short drywall screws, screwdriver in the glove box.

Throw the jack behind a seat

Is the base steel? Buy a $4 90 or 120 pound pull magnet, screw the magnet to the floor facing up. Place jack on top

Place jack on floor in a corner, screw 2 short 2x4’s to the floor to box it in.

I have 12 & 20 ton btl. jacks. You don't want one flying around in a vehicle during an accident or panic stop. That can happen w/ a fire ext. bracket. Get a section of drill pipe/ casing pipe. Bolt or weld it to the floor on end and store the jack in it.

I typically make a small frame that the bottle jack will fit in while fully collapsed, then unscrew the threaded portion of the ram to expand it until it's snug, and give it half a pump...done.

That’s a good way. I used to do the same with pallet jacks on the trucks and trailers. Turn the wheels sideways and raise the forks until they just engage the loaded pallet.

This project was to add a spare tire to a box truck and then the jack. Already had a lug wrench. Didn't want to do a complicated mount underneath so I put it inside. Used this $12 Mounting kit from Ebay. Had to lengthen the rod and add a $3 wingnut and make a stop with a scrap piece of 2x3. The lug wrench is tucked in the corner.

Used a$10 Home Depot fire extinguisher mount to hold the 12 ton bottle jack on top of the $40 wheel and tire I got off Craigslist and a strong magnet to keep the handle in place.

Hardly takes up any floor space.

Total cost about $65 plus the old jack I have lying around.
