Nothing special here. Hand tools stand up by the window of my garden shed (old block house), and the string trimmer, brush cutter, and leaf blower hang on hooks behind the door.

Old photos, but I haven't changed anything relative to the topic at hand here.

I've got big yellow dollar store hooks for the trimmers n whatnot. If they don't play nice with hooks I put a dollar store giant carabiner on them, so they do. Then a bungee stretched across two hooks to hold all the long handled yard tools against the wall. Any commercially available attachment system would set me back too many hundreds.

I've had good luck with the Tornado brand hangers. Many sizes to pick from and very strong. Home Depot carries them.

looks like they have a number of different hanging options but still seems kinda limited. what kind of weight do they support?

Anyway u can send me a pic of the Bungee cord and how that works with your yard tools hung from them?

I built a few racks like this out of 5/8” formply. Usually 12” deep, gives a little more capacity and very ridgid.

I use pairs of large spike nails (10" long) spaced a bit under 3" apart to hang shovels, rakes and garden tools in my garden shed. I built custom brackets and mini-shelves to hang weed wacker and various motorized tools in a semi-warm stairwell to my basement. (sorry no pics. But you can imagine.)

Too many different types of tools to have a single storage system. Shovels, axes, mattocks get placed on double nails driven into the girts; rakes, brooms, and the like are all placed upside down in an old milk can. Blower and trimmer on a shelf.

For shovels, rakes, etc, I just lean them against the wall in the barn. For my outdoor power equipment, I built this. I have saws through the uprights in the front, weed eaters/brush cutters hanging between the bars on the back, and backpack blower hanging from hook on the front. Handheld blower is sitting on the ground between the uprights and pole saw across the top.

*Excuse the dirty floor. It needs mopped badly.

A little different here mostly by accident. We moved 3 years ago and we did all our own packing. I used one of the maybe 4 ft tall boxes that you hang clothing in to move shovels etc. Got to the new house and it went into the basement. I have used them here and there and was at the same stage as the OP. Where to hang them and what to use. They are still in that box. I opened the top flaps, folded them down to contact the sides, and wrapped several layers of duct tape around them. So the top foot or so of the box is strongly reinforced. The rake and one long handle shovel don't fit but everything else is where I can get to them and I don't have to look at them.

I have the one on the bottom right - hang my gas powered weed Wacker on it. It is screwed into a stud. Also sometimes hang coiled extension cords on it with the weed Wacker. Had it for several years seems pretty robust.

I went all in on the Lowe’s K-rail system. The big drawback is that they discontinued making some of their accessories, so Gladiator is probably where I’d go if you want to invest in a rail system with the most accessories.

I still prefer the actual K-rail compared to others, and I spent several months slowly accumulating the rare accessories like wire baskets and tote support brackets. The big benefit of a rail system is that you can re-organize and you’re not committed to a single layout. The main downside is the price tag.

Well, here’s a couple pics.
