I am looking to expand to have a larger shelter for firewood storage. Any ideas?

I would put an awning angling down to some posts to keep the wood out of the weather, probably wouldn't have to go that far out. By awning I mean a lean to with steel roof.

I like the idea, thanks man. Where would you start it? I want it to be as rustic as possible so I could use timber or telephone poles. I wish some of those CAD guys could jump in and show me how it would look like.

C'mon man use your imagination!

Sketch something out on paper if you have to. Plop some treated fence posts in the ground with 2bys around them at the top to form a framework for a roof of some sort just to keep the majority of rain and snow off the woodpile.

Personally I'd get the wood pile away from the building. You're inviting rodents and insects to live close to, if not inside your building.

That is exactly why I am looking to do some kind of lean to structure so that I can pull the wood away from the garage. I could use my imagination, but I figured if members on here could move a mans shop all around his yard just to prove a point about why he was in the wrong for building where he did, then it should be pretty simple to show me some designs for expanding. :beer:
