Anyone know of a good non powered non solar vent system for conex boxes?

I remember seeing a system years back that went in the doors, or at least that’s where I was thinking of putting them based on our prevailing winds.

Seems like either solar or those whirlybird things are most common on searches. But I don’t want to cut a hole in the roof.

What problems are you having? And where are you located?

I found a 6 inch hole in the bottom covered with hardware cloth and metal screen was sufficient to keep most of the moisture issues down in my 40 foot high cube just relying on the hole in the floor and the two pressure equalization vents.

I also have to be fairly strategic about when I open and close it. If it’s open on warm, humid day and a 30° drop in temperature occurs due to a cold front all that warm moist air is going to condense. And you need to open it back up to dry it out.

That doesn’t help with the heat much though. For the heat I painted the top with cool roof elastomeric paint. I think the brand was Henry’s. That helped quite a bit.

I’m pretty sure the sailing crowd has solar power vent fans, but that would require a hole in the top or inside. Something I’m just not willing to do (yet).

Edit-oops. Disregard the solar thing.

I used butyl tape and self tappers to put one of these in my bottom of a door and the other one in the top back corner and it cut the condensation down about half. home depot vent to Bluedog's point, I do still get quite a bit of condensation, even with the doors open when there's big temp swings.

I have solar panels covering half my roof and that half never has condensation. I'll probably paint the other half with that cool roof paint this year.

Last year I installed two Conex boxes at a new school we were building, for athletic storage. They came with vents. A 6” hole at the top of the wall, with a half circle metal covering welded to the exterior of the wall, so rain wouldn’t get in. I don’t know if this was a custom fabrication, or if you can buy the covers. There are similar ones on Amazon.

If cutting holes in the side acceptable; Salem Vents. An obround hole is cut these protrude through, silicone back side and front under flange, with short sheet metal or my preference self-tapping backed up with same thread nut. Silicone under screw face, a washer is even better. Prices all over the map; but a little judicious shopping makes them plenty reasonable.
I replaced two on box truck, work perfectly. In a variety of materials, therefore variety of pricing.

PS/ or maybe edit:
Serious advantage to Salem Vents, cover is very weather-tight closed, still shields the vent when open, and can open either direction, not unlike how boat hulls pull air in, circulate and exit, one open aft for each open forward.

I have two 40' high cubes that I plan on adding additional air flow. Being that I have power I plan to install power vents with tstats. For the small amount of power I know I will have positive air flow, also with wifi I can adjust as needed.

Putting a low-mounted inlet vent in the sidewall (or door) and a matching high-mounted vent above it will create a passive thermosyphon.

That site reminded me of casters mounted to OSC's, using the locking pockets in each lower corner. It's a bayonet fitting, many trailers have the male cam-lock.
Before internet was so smart, it was an epic trial and error quest creating an operative search phrase, but I have the drawing and engineering specifications somewhere.
Saved before the internet was so generous, and learning good procedures for naming files.
