Need ideas to move air compressor to outside

I'm finishing up on my compressor room and now need ideas of how to get it the 30' away? I have no tractor and the dolly I have isn't big enough to move it. Any ideas of how to get it across the grass and gravel driveway to side of building?

buy some cheap Masonite sheets, and get a few guys and slide it across. Yes...you can lean it over. I brought mine home on it's side. You just have to let it stand upright for 24 hours before firing it up. Or lay it on a skid and drag it across by pulling it with a rope or something. If I were closer, I'd stop by with my tractor and move it for you, but sorry I'm not.

Transport with strong dolly or appliance mover. Ratchet strap it to the dolly. If necessary, build a wooden cage around it for "square" shape.

That's how I bought my 60 gallon compressor. I ratchet-strapped it to dolly and rolled it up on utility trailer ramp and laid it down on bunch of foam. Then strapped all that to trailer itself for 200 mile ride back. When home, rolled it off trailer and into garage.

Neighbor with a tractor? Maybe get a wrecker to come out and pick it up to move it? The ideas above are good too, maybe buy some casters and make a simple temporary dolly to move it with on the plywood.

If it sits on legs you can probably "walk" it over by tilting it onto two legs and tilting it back and forth on the two legs. Takes some practice to keep balance, but not that hard to do.

dollar store, cheap plastic cutting boards. hard plastic slides on most every thing. I keep 10-15 on hand for such tasks. I moved my South Bend 13X42 by myself using cutting boards and didn't brake a sweat.

It's an 80 gallon upright IR. I tried walking it on concrete and about lost it 2x so that won't work for outside. No neighbors or reliable enough friends to help so I'm on my own on this one which is the problem. I may try the Masonite sheets and cutting boards under the legs to get it to the location and come up with something to get it in side. I like the ideas so keep them coming

Is it a t30 ? If so I have the same one. Way to heavy for a dolly by yourself. I just moved mine. I used my skidsteer to get it off the trailer and close to where I wanted it. I made a 4 wheel cart and lagged it down thru the feet. Rolls like a dream. If your ground is some what level some 3/4 ply and you could wheel it across with leap frogging the ply. I don't think masonite would hold up?? IIFC it weighs close to 800lbs and very top heavy.

You can unbolt and remove the weight off the top and try moving pieces with the dolly

Or you can rent a skid steer or fork lift.

It's the 2 stage one, but yes it's very top heavy. I may try to build a cart out of 2x4 and use lawn mower tires as axles. Just something quick and stable enough to move it one time.

Take the motor and pump off. Lawn mower wheels and a higher platform make me think of tipping over.

If you look like your avatar. You should have zero issues finding tons of willing help at a local gym.
Otherwise a rental truck with a lift maybe the easiest option. Or look over craigslist for landscapers and see what they will charge to have them use the skidsteer to help move it.

When I moved mine, about the same size and weight. I made a oak pallet for it, then used a hand pallet truck and a few sheets of plywood on the ground.

Can use a truck to move it due to where it's going there's no room to back up to its location and I'm not trusting a random person on a skid loader to move it.

404.... It would only be an inch or so off the ground and the lawn mower tires are for easy moving on the grass and gravel and to make a wide trac.

Do you know anyone with a jet ski (trailer)? The rails (bunks) might just be the right width to lay it onto.

Mount it to a really bowed piece of plywood and pull it with a come-along?

Slide it on skis. Hook a come along to the compressor and a deadman, take up the slack.
Reset the deadman and repeat.

I'm with the take off the motor and pump crowd...lay the tank down on its side and just roll it over...

or use it as an excuse to buy a small tractor!!
