I have a old whaling lance/spear i picked up in Martha's Vineyard a few years ago and had to deal with the same problem.

The best method i've found was some generic curtain rod brackets, anchored to studs, and then use piano wire to secure the spear to the brackets. Its almost invisible and hasn't fallen in the past few earthquakes

Tapered concrete monolith, 3X5 foot at the base, through the garage floor, tapering to 1-1/2X3 foot at the top, 10 foot high overall, 4 foot of it in ground, 2" stainless threaded rod embedded to hold clamps. Piece of cake.

I hung a 1" ratchet on the wall by welding a cheap socket to a piece of flat stock and lag bolted it to the wall. The ratchet is just in the socket so it is still 100% usable. For that wrench, honestly two nails will hold that on the wall just fine. Another idea, use it as a door handel for the beer frige.

Just use some plumbers straping. Its a roll of metal strap about 3/4" wide with holes punched about every 1/2", used to hold pipes. Just put a strap across the handle near each end and run a screw top and bottom.
Or take some tin snips and cut a piece of sheet metal to make straps. You could make them out of just about anything......even a soup can.

I would find some lag bolts with the biggest head you can find. Then make a simple metal bracket to lag bolt the wrench to the header. If you can't find big headed lag bolts maybe take some big bolts and epoxy them into the header?
