Need Info on some Older/Vintage Compressor Pumps

Good afternoon everyone,

After months of research, I've finally decided to create an account on this site and ask the knowledgeable people what kind of info they can come up on these compressor pumps.

First one: Ranger REV 602-7 s/n 1198-145 (it looks like a rebrand of the Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor Block 15 HP) the bore size and other specs match))

2nd: Ranger REV 602-7 s/n 1198-195 ( this one has lower RPM, and higher PSI than the first one)

3rd: Not much info other than the serial number: 8108382 ( looks like a rebranded Jenny, Emglo ??)

4th: Looks like a Devilbiss Dental/Medical Air compressor or even a refrigeration compressor??? The seller told me he bought the pump in 1980) A 3 Hp motor runs it. Very slow RPM. Thinking about bringing up the RPM to about 800-900.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. I emailed Pacific Engineering for info on the Ranger Pumps but no words of it yet. I live in Canada, Ontario. I know Binks was a rebrand of the Quincy. I got one QR-25 model 240. I was thinking they could be more rebrand.

I found what I was looking for. I will post my findings here for future reference.

First of all, the Ranger compressor pumps is a Canadian-made brand. The company name that built/bought these pumps from (IR) is Pacific Engineering Inc based out of Pickering, On. www.pacificranger.com
These pumps above are the same as the Ingersoll Rand T-30 Model 7100 just different colors and model #.

2nd: Grey pump. Found out it's a Webster Compressor pump. Again, Canadian-made brand that was based in London, On. They went underground by the end of mid-80's apparently. If you have a Webster compressor pump and are wondering what model you have, look at the first 2 digit. Example; my S/N is 8108382. So my model # is 81. With a 15hp motor, you could get 71 CFM at 860 Rpm. 200 Psi. Same for model 80 which are both V4 pumps.

3rd one. To the best of my findings, it's a Brunner compressor pump. It was a refrigeration (Freon) compressor. But apparently Brunner came up with a "kit" to use their pumps for air also. I figure the rule of 4 CFM per hp will apply here. Mine is set up (the way I bought it) 16" flywheel at the pump. Electric motor is 3450 Rpm and has a 4" pulley at the electric motor. My pump is running at 860 Rpm. (give or take) which is within the specs of other compressors from that time.

P.S. If you have access to replacement parts for the Webster or the Brunner compressor. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I would like to Rebuilt the heads.

That gray pump doesn't look like a Brunner to me. Definitely a reefer compressor, but Brunner's didn't have a kit installed, they just used the pumps as they were. I'd take it to a HVAC or refrigeration place to figure it what it is. Be aware that reefer pumps were often designed to pump oil along with the gas, so some don't have any piston rings. A company called Atmosphair in Markham , Ontario apparently sell Brunner parts, but without knowing the model number you might be stymied. Any rebuild kit for the appropriate IR should work just fine on that Ranger.

I did find this a few months back. This one has 5 cooling fins on the head compare to mine only 3 or 4. It looks like Kelvinator (Frigidaire) pump.

Or even this one. But its a 12 inch Flywheel. Mine has a 16". Type M but cant find any on the webpage.
