Need info on some hand tools - American Forge and Firestone

Hello again,

still been cleaning up and organizing around my shop and I found some brands that I am not familiar with. First is some combination wrenches. American Forge is the name on them and they say USA









Notice that two of the wrenches have a round-ended raised beam whereas the rest of the wrenches have more of a slant-ended raised beam. Possibly two of the wrenches are of a different date? Here are the numbers from the wrenches if it makes any difference:

7540___1-1/4"
7536___1-1/8"
7534___1-1/16"
7530___15/16"
7528___7/8" (rounded beam)
7524___3/4" (rounded beam)
7520___5/8"
7512___3/8"

Next are the sockets. Also American forge:









And here are the numbers on the sockets:

Next is the fine tooth round head rachet. 1/2" drive. Also American Forge:







The number on the rachet is 4900.

And finally, a Firestone 1-1/16" socket:





Sorry for such a long post. I am curious to know any information that anyone may have on the American Forge tools such as where exactly they were made and if they are of any value. As for the Fireston socket, who made it, where was it made, and is it of any value?

American Forge was a brand name used by New Britain during the Litton years.

The Firestone tools were made by Plomb/Proto.

You aren't getting rich off those items, but the Firestone stuff has a following and you might make a collector happy...

Like the other guy said nothing there to out of the ordinary the American forge stuff is just kind of middle of the road old usa stuff which theres tons of out there for dirt cheap at pawn shops and flea markets just because its old and usa doesn't mean its worth anything. I would price the set of wrenches at about $15 the set of sockets at about $8 and the ratchet about $5. The firestone socket is pretty cool, they were made by plomb which was back in the pre proto days and are a very collectable desirable brand but its only a single socket so I would price it at a buck or 2.

Cool! Thanks guys. I'm not gonna sell any of it due to it being my grandfathers. I just kinda wanted to know a little history on it. I appreciate it very much!
