Hey everyone,

Recently moved into an apartment for the next several months until our house is finished. The apartment comes with a single car garage that’s plenty spacious. No drywall and has rafters above with shelving. The lighting is a single bulb connected to a light switch on the wall. There is also one electrical outlet. I do my own vehicle maitenance among other things and would like to make this space brighter.

I’m thinking some kind of overhead light connected to an extension cord. Not really sure. What would be some other options?

I appreciate the help.

You have bare walls. Install an outlet or two before your switch.
I have two of these in my 3 car garage. Very bright. Cheap. 2-3 years old and have never failed:

Great suggestions and you guys have given me some ideas! I do like the option of being able to take it with me when we move out.

Get a couple of 4' hangable fixtures that link together. Hang fixtures, then plug in with cord.

I did this to 3 rentals before I bought the house. Worst I had to do was putty a few holes.
