need lighting recommendations

hi guys, I've been building a 32x48 garage now since april....what a pain its been...anyways, I need some recommendations for ceiling lights inside the garage. Just gonna tinker and store my old car, but I've heard that the cheap t-8's fluorescent light assemblies you get from Walmart have terrible ballasts that go out in a month or two....LED's seem way overpriced, is there any affordable LED's? or better flourescents on the web somewhere?

I don't know where you are, but here (San Diego, CA) you can buy very heavily subsidized LED lamps. I paid $1.10 (I think) for a 10 watt (60 watt equivalent) with an Edison base.

Pretty cheap when you factor in the low consumption and long life.
