I have bare concrete floors in my shop and wish to put a few lines on the floor to indicate the optimum locations for my scissor lift and race ramps. The race ramps in particular get relocated when not in use. I temporarily have put down some wide painter's tape which was easy to re-position during the trial and error positioning process. On a daily basis, I drive my truck over and even park on these lines. After a couple of months, of course, the tape is starting to lift up.

I am very happy with bare concrete floors, but do need about 10 to 15 feet of lines on the floor that will be durable. What do you guys recommend? Tape or paint or ...... Also, any special floor preparation? The concrete is five years old and in the area of the lines has seen a lot of sawdust and probably some sweaty hands, but no oil spills yet.

You might look for traffic striping paint......I would expect it would hold up pretty well.....

Go with the traffic paint the tape will only come up and start looking out dated very quickly and having to re-tape the floor every month will be very time consuming, thought the the traffic paint will be there for years to come !!
