Just purchased my first ever house, as stated in my intel. Anyway I'm just looking at every possible way to gain a little more space. I want to build a enclosed lean to off the back side of my 16x24 garage for the bikes and snowmobiles and all the other junk that doesn't need to be taking up work space. I'm a powersports tech by trade, I work on motorcycles, four wheelers, side by sides, snowmobiles. At home I would on all that plus my truck projects. Current is my 1957 Chevy truck with air ride in the making. I want the 16x24 space to be for my truck. And the occasional service work I do I can roll the truck out and do my work.
My ceilings are only 7' 9" won't be a problem getting my two trucks inside as they are both lowered. But I peaked my head up into the ceiling and thought hell I wonder if there's a way, structurally safe, to build a beam along with what's already there and have a pitched ceiling. I'd gain tons of head room. And could install my 2 post lift for the truck and the service of bikes and wheelers.
Is this possible, what do I have to do. Or am I out of my mind and just need to live and be happy with what I have.
