Looking for a flashlight.
Specifications
1. about 4 inches long
2. uses 3 AAA batteries in a cylinder holder
3. Has a lanyard.
4. Brightest possible

I know that other specs would be better but I really need one this size. Don't want rechargeable batteries for this one.

Any suggestions?

I have too many flashlights ( I can admit that here) but this XL50 and older XL100's are all over my house in various drawers etc. Always work. Bright enough for most domestic things. I have surefires for the outdoor/work stuff

Direct from Maglite with free shipping for the 4th

I hate to admit it but I have been getting the Harbor Freight ones. On sale they are almost cheaper than just getting the batteries. Plenty bright for me and you dont have to worry about losing or breaking them. The two I have right now are at least a year old and still working fine. For $4 what do you have to lose ?

I also have a small Eveready one I picked up at the grocery store a while back. It has been fine but I dont think its as bright as the Harbor Freight ones.

I have a boatload of lights and the one I've been using a lot lately is the Acebeam H16. It's not exactly what you're looking for but it's an amazing bright light and comes with a headband. For $20 you're not going to come close for the output and quality.

I know its not what you asked, but my Streamlight Strion HL is the best flashlight Ive ever had (and Ive had alot). Very much a buy once cry once kind of thing.
