Not to hijack this post, most of you know that I have done a ton of screwdriver reviews on the GJ; but one screwdriver that I never did review was the following one from the Eastwood company.

http://www.trucktrend.com/news/1303tr-ultimate-screwdriver-shootout-truckin-tough

Made in Taiwan has anyone on the GJ ever tried them? Are they any good?

I bought those and thought they were on the level of the Gearwrench screwdrivers. Decent for the price. I no longer have them because I needed to make room for some other screwdrivers that I wanted to try out.
Hope this helps.

I bought the same set that won the shootout and I'm very happy with them. I've got at least 6 other sets, yet I put the Eastwoods near the top as well.

The Williams are great drivers and the set listed above provides a good mix while still being affordable. The Tektons i bought last year have held up well so far.

Another vote for Williams usa hard handle. I believe these are basically Snap On's last generation of screw drivers. They feel good in my hands.

Williams hard handles for sure.

I double dog dare you to find a better set than this at the price.

That is for the 8 piece set but if I was buying for me I'd get the 2 6 piece sets, one Philips and one Flat. That is how I bought my Snap On orange handled drivers.

I have a set of those Williams hard handles, and while they are really nice I had to retire them. I don't have the same grip as I used to and the smaller sizes started to spin in my hands when sweaty. I went with Milwaukee's 2nd gen cushion grip as my garage set after KCTyphoon had some good comments about them. They feel so good in my hands now. I have the 1st gen insulated drivers in my electric pouch. Not to worry though, my Williams are bundled up in my road bag.

Masterforce (Pratt Read) made in the USA, 6 screwdrivers for $14. The added benefit is you can supplement that set with additional drivers. They’ve got a bunch.

For the OP, I’m going to elaborate a bit more on my initial post. Pratt Read made screwdrivers for Craftsman before Western Forge became the supplier. I’ve got both manufacturers of the same driver depending on age. They’ll be stamped with PR or WF on the handle. If you’re happy with the screwdrivers you’ve got now, this is a similar driver made in the USA for a similar price. A 6 piece set is $14 add what you need on an individual basis.

Are the Williams good drivers? Yep. The 8 piece set is $52 on Amazon however. That’s a significant step up in price vs USA craftsman

I've got an older set of Husky acetate handled screwdrivers that have been retired due to some getting worn out. They are US made, and still work in a pinch. I replaced them with a set of the Tekton US made screwdrivers. I love them. There are better suggestions on this thread so far, but for a DIY'er like me, they work great.

If you were satisfied with the older Craftsman screwdrivers, check out swap meets, flea markets, online sources, etc. to see if you can find older ones that are still in good condition. In my experience Craftsman screwdrivers are very common at those sources so you should be able to find some usable replacements.

Klein square shank screwdrivers are a favorite. I like the plastic handle models. The handle design allows you to put a lot of torque on tight fasteners.
The square shank is good for spinning the screwdriver and a wrench can be put anywhere on the length when extra power is needed.
Durability of the tips is very good.

I am a bigger handed guy, and have noticed my grip strength dropping with age. I find myself grabbing the Wera screwdrivers more often because of the grip. After a lifetime of Klein nut drvers, I picked up a set of Wera nut drivers (thanks GJ) and now use those almost exclusively. I don't like the rest of Wera's tools, but really like the drivers. Second favorite would be the old trusty Craftsman Pro short blade rubber handle that can now be had as an SK.

Bits and drivers...

You can get bitdrivers long and stubby with your favourite handle and good bitset for similar price as a small set of good screwdrivers. The difference is the bitset has most of the tips you will ever need and you can carry it in your pocket. I use bits more and more...

I'd highly recommend Vessel (Japan) screwdrivers, particularly if you own asian vehicles. I also switched over from my old Craftsman. I own several Vessel screwdrivers (via Amazon), all magnetic tipped and really well made.

If you're near a Menard's, their "Masterforce" (what a dippy name) brand screwdrivers are about as close as you're going to get. They have those old-school clear hard handles.

Personally, I hate that style, so a Tekton set is what's in my box.

Lots of great screwdrivers out there. At a certain point, it's mostly up to personal preference.

I just got the 12 pc Snap-On set and am extremely satisfied. They were on promo last month and my dealer knocked them down to a little over 200.

I love my Felo and PB Swiss drivers. I have a few odd Wera and Wiha, and they are both exceptionally nice, too. Euro tools can be a touch more expensive but the quality is top shelf.

I will admit—money no object—I'm buying a whole bunch of PB Swiss soft handle drivers.
