I tore out the glue down vinyl plank in our foyer this morning. A still tacky semi clear yellow adhesive is left behind on the particle board underlayment. Still quite sticky after eight years.

The underlayment appears to be glued down to the OSB subfloor with no nails or screws.

Whether I remove the underlayment or leave it I'll have glue cleanup. I'm thinking I'll be time ahead by pulling up the underlayment & removing glue from the subfloor instead. This vinyl adhesive is a bit of a nightmare.

I'll start in the closet to test but would like to hear opinions before I start.

Upon further exploration, some of the underlayment seams were caulked & the staples were applied randomly, not even remotely following the grid pattern on the underlayment.

So I know how to proceed. Should have poked around more before posting.
