Im in the process of wiring my new shop. Its a 30x50x14. Im trying to decide what lights to install and to do it right the first time. After researching a little it seems that 100 lumens per sq ft is the goal to reach for. So for a 1500 sq ft shop I need 150,000 lumens. Im leaning towards t5ho lights. As they are brighter than the t12s and t8s. Thought about going led but way too pricy for me. What do you guys think about these lights. I leaning toward 8 4 bulb fixtures or 6 6 bulb fixtures. What do you think would be the best as light distribution? Also is this going overkill on lights?

My eyes hurt just looking at the pictures. This is an excellent example of why you shouldn't use F54T5HO lamps below 15ft.

It's not as bad as you think and makes detailing cars much easier. I had single bulbs in there previously and it looked like a cave and the walls were light. Now dark floors and the wall colors tone it down the brightness quite a bit.
