I just bought a new home that has a very small 2 car garage that will just fit both my car Ford Flex and wife Tesla Model Y. I need to put all of our storage in our garage ceiling as we don't have room on sides or front of the garage. I will be storing everything from surfboards, bicycles to Christmas trees. What are the brands and installers that you all would recommend. Should I look at fixed vs. pulley. Electric vs. crank. All advice is welcome. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I built my own out of Uni-strut lagged into the garage ceiling joists. It will easily hold more than the garage structure can safely support. But I had access to cheap strut, and there are a ton of fittings you can use to make whatever you want to out of it, so here we are.

There were some killer deals on those Saferacks a couple weeks ago during the holiday sales.

At our last house we only had a 1 car garage & no basement, so storage was at a premium. I used leftover lumber & built a over the door storage rack for my Mustang parts. I bolted the uprights of the storage rack to the ceiling joists.

The safe racks are easy to install . I did two 4x8 on the back wall and they are working out just fine.
