I am looking for the manual for a Sears Enginge Analyzer model # 161.214230. If anyone has one or a comparable one that would be great. If you can scan and email it that would be great or I'm willing to buy it too.

Thanks,
bob

Thanks, Id appreciate that. I don't really want to pay 22 for a manual for a tool that may not still work.

Thats it. Now I will see if this thing still works.

Thanks,
Bob

I know this has been a long time since you needed the manual for Sears Analyzer 161.214230, but I hope you still have a copy of it. I have this machine, but I stored it in the trunk of my old Ford Galaxie and forgot it was there. I have been looking for years for it and when I found it, the manual was falling apart. I have tried the link to get a copy, but it no longer works. The machine itself looks brand new, but I can't remember what to do with the lines. If you have a copy of the manual, I would truly appreciate if you would share with me.
Thanks, Angus

Thanks for that link PJNJ. I tried that, but it is for a different model, the model in that link doesn't have as many connections. Need 161.214230, which is no longer there. Since Bob, BareBones was able to get it, I was hoping he still had a copy that he would share.
Again, thanks.

Roger Penske used one to tune his Cosworth DFV Indy car engines, his name was right-on the box!

It appears the leads are color-coded, are they? Then all you need to do is make the connections that any 1970's Motor manual would tell you to make to get readings. Check your local library, they usually have copies of them for loan.

I have what I believe is an earlier version of that box, it's in storage, so not handy right-away. I've had it since it was current, and I owned vehicles with points and condensers. Kevin Cameron of Cycle World said awhile ago he just recycled a bunch of old meters, and now doesn't own a dwell meter. If you like things explained in mechanical issues, he's a great read. He usually gives a good historical perspective on whatever's on the table, or under discussion.
