Hi all

I picked up a DP 220 this morning in pieces, its complete apart from a gear that is used to crank the (production) table up and down, actually the crank handle is on another shaft this gear is on a separate shaft that is also missing.
I need all the little pieces in the image, does anyone have a set that they would be willing to sell?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
Steve

Those are going to be tough to find, and expensive. Best to find another dp with the parts you need.

Buying another machine is a possibility but knowing myself as I do I would then be looking for the same parts to fix that one and so on....
I hope someone has a dead or half dead machine that they are willing to part out. I’m fine paying a fair price, just looking to save another old machine.
Thanks
Steve

May be able to find a gear that will work from “Boston Gear”. The rest of the parts should be simple to make.

If you don’t have the tools to make the parts, McMaster sells many off the shelf bushings, gears, and shafts. May take a bit of altering, but you should be able to make it work again.

Thank you Cahark that is a good idea.

Does anyone have a gear that they can measure for me?

PS Cahark, My daughter attends Dayton, she was sent home a few weeks ago, she misses it!

Those parts show up on Ebay all the time. However I'd post a wanted ad on the BOYD forum at owwm.org.

Those guys over there have been extremely helpful in helping me find scarce machinery parts that I thought would be unobtanium. For the most part I've found their prices to be very fair. Give them a try.

Yes, to parts, yes to helpful, but read their rules. The OWWM forum is not like the GJ forum.
Old WoodWorking Machines Forum Rules:

Your OWWM Membership:
Your membership here is a privilege and not a right. As a member you agree to abide by all the rules of the OWWM Forums. Your membership can be temporarily suspended or revoked at any time for any reason as determined by the site administrators. Excessive rule breaking or egregious offenses will result in a full banning.

Religion:
Do not post about religion.

Politics:
Do not post about politics.

***:
Do not post about ***.

Divisive Topics:
Do not post topics that push people’s buttons. Remember, not everyone shares your opinions. If in doubt forward your text to a moderator for review.

Respect:
No member will berate, belittle, bad mouth, criticize, decry, depreciate, deride, derogate, denigrate, diminish, discount, discredit, disparage, dispraise, downgrade, downplay, dump on, flame, knock, lower, minimize, pan, poo-poo, poor mouth, put down, rap, rip, roast, run down, scoff at, scorch, scorn, slam, smear, sneer at, take down, tear down, underestimate, underrate, under value or write off any member or their machines.

Online Auction:
Do not post a link to, description of or allude to any online auction sites. This includes finished auctions, Buy It Now and auction site seller's 'Store' listings.

Craig’s List & Classified Ads:
Do not post a link to, description of, or allude to any Craig’s List or classified ads. The only exception to this rule is when it is mentioned as the source for a machine you have bought.

Disputes:
Do not air your dirty laundry here.

Cross Posting:
Do not cross post (same topic to multiple forums).

Appraisals:
Do not ask for or give appraisals. Without seeing a machine in person, there are too many unknowns. In addition, prices vary considerably by location, condition, age, ease of pick up or delivery, and so on. Your best option is to search for available sale prices, such as completed sales on eBay (as opposed to listing prices with no bids), listings on our own "Bring Out Your Dead" forum, and other sale sites.

Vulturing:
Do not ask someone to part out a machine.

Chumming:
Do not advertise a sale on any forum other than Bring Out Your Dead.

Rants:
Do not post rants.

Loop Holes:
Do not explore loop holes to get around any rules listed here.

Asian Made Machines:
Asking for information, offering information, advice or the discussion of Asian made machines is not allowed on any forums.

Electrical Topics:
Discussion of permanently installed building wiring systems is not allowed. This includes service entrance conductors, panel boards, circuit breakers, branch circuits, and any portion of branch circuits leading to and including a receptacle (outlet) or disconnecting means, otherwise known as permanently installed electrical work.

Allowable electrical topics include wiring within an old woodworking machine, including the motor(s) and controls. Discussion of RPC or VFD wiring is allowed, but only insofar as it pertains to the devices themselves, or control of the devices, not the portion dealing with supply wiring, circuit breakers, branch circuits, receptacles, nor any other part normally associated with permanently installed building wiring systems.

Avatars:
Avatars must contain clear and recognizable OWWM content. Animated avatars are not allowed. Avatars found to be offensive or non-compliant will be removed at the sole discretion of the administrator. Do not re-use an avatar after it has been removed. If you find your avatar has been removed and have not been alerted to this by an administrator please contact an administrator (use the PM button below).

Off Topic:
Do not go off topic for the forum you are posting to.

Bad Advice:
In the event that you see dangerous or harmful advice given on these forums it is your responsibility to flag the post (triangular button with the exclamation (!) mark) to make a moderator or administrator aware of the posting. Members who post dangerous or harmful advice will be contacted by an administrator and told to stop. Failure to stop these postings will result in removal as a member. This removal will be without recourse.

Compliance:
In the event that you are unsure of compliance contact a moderator or administrator. The adage, “better to ask forgiveness than permission”, doesn’t apply here.

• New motors and motor controls designed to be used with OWWM/OMWM’s
• New machine parts that fit to OWWM/OMWM’s

Events:
This forum is for the use of members to announce, plan or otherwise discuss regional or national gatherings and events where the members can meet and rub elbows.

ArnFest:
The usage of the word ArnFest in an event name by anyone other than the owner of this forum is not allowed.

Please format your subject line with the event title and something descriptive after it (location, dates, schedules, etc)

For example:

[MWTCA Meeting] Chicago, 12/25/96

or

[CAMA 2010] Volunteers Needed!

Woodworking Projects Forum:
The projects forum is for your use to post pictures of woodworking projects you are currently working on or to ask/give advice about how to proceed with a project. It is our own little wooddorking forum for those who, well, actually use their machines.

Bring Out Your Dead (BOYD):

The BOYD rules are posted on the BOYD forums.

Ruckerer’s Rodeo:
This forum is for arranging the movement of and/or the Pottering (storing) of OWWM’s.

All items are subject to the same rules of what's allowed on BOYD.

Include in the subject line where your item is located and where it needs to go.

In the body of your request, be sure to list what it is you're moving along with weights, physical dimensions and number of pieces, as applicable. You will find people a lot more willing to help if you don't make them work harder than they need to.

If you are concerned with your request revealing a machine you are currently trying to keep under wraps, use a similar machine description.

List any willingness to contribute to the Ruckerer's gas fund up front. Most people are too polite to ask and you don't want people to avoid you over something you're willing to offer in the first place. Likewise, if you are offering services, list your financial requirements up front. There is nothing wrong with asking for payment for your services.

List any time sensitivities. Most people are more than willing to help, but we all have jobs and lives. If you need something moved in 2 days and someone assumes 3 weeks is acceptable, well, you get the point.

In the event that you find someone to pick up, store and/or move an item it is your responsibility to coordinate the Rucker until the end.

SWARF Forum:
The SWARF (Stuff Without Arn Related Facts) Forum is for the discussion of anything you want as long as you follow the rules (see all the above).

Behavior:
SWARF is not a wild west show.

Craig’s List Exception:
While it was once OK to discuss certain Craig’s List ads that privilege no longer exists.

OWWM.org Support Forum:
This forum is for members to use when having problems with the discussion forum like logging in, how to navigate the forums, changing their profiles, practicing their hand at posting pictures, etc. Please note that you do not need to be logged in to post to this forum so members can, if they are having problems with logging in, post their problems here. Typically this will result in faster action than e-mailing or PMing a moderator or administrator.

Vintage Machinery Website Support Forum:
This forum is for use when having problems with the Vintage Machinery (previously the OWWM Dot Com) site. This forum is monitored by Vintage Machinery site owner Keith Rucker, Vintage Machinery site historian Jeff Joslin as well as others.

Why We Have The eBay (Online) Auction Rule:
Online auctions create a level playing field where we all have the same advantage. If a member finds an auction they don’t want it exposed to the world. Put another way, would you alert the group to an auction you had an interest in? Think of it like a fisherman giving out maps to his best fishing hole.

The usual reason given for violating or wanting to violate the rule is that the violator/potential violator feels that the item will go for under what an OWWM member would be willing to give or the item will be lost to a non-member. With the former it’s pretty unlikely that another member hasn’t already seen it. With the latter, that’s life and no one has yet decreed that all good deals should go to an OWWM forum member.

Professing a misunderstanding of a rule or a disagreement with a rule will not be tolerated. Remember, thousands of members understand, follow and do not challenge the rules.

When Can an Online Auction Be Discussed:
When an online auction is completed/finished it can be discussed. Keep in mind that pictures from the auction will more than likely become dead after a given time and if you insist on discussing the item you really should take the time to repost the pictures to a site like Photo Bucket or Image Shack where they can live on with the post. If your inquiry is of a historical nature and should be archived please post it to the Old Woodworking Machines forum. Please note that most online auctions sites have changed the way old (completed) auctions are displayed and that current auctions are displayed along side the finished auctions. Links with these current auctions displayed will be removed.

Poking fun at some auctions can be a great bit of fun but do not need to be brought up during the duration of the auction. Please post these after the auction has finished to the SWARF forum.

There are times where you will find a current auction for something you know is needed by another forum member. It is perfectly fine to privately alert (PM or e-mail) that member to the item before the end of the auction.

In the event that you find yourself needing information prior to bidding on an online auction it is up to you to devise a way of asking your questions without exposing the online auction.

And when all else fails, send a Private Message (PM) to a moderator or administrator. You might be surprised what the outcome will be when you ask first.

What Happens When the Rules Are Violated?;
A violation of any of the rules will cause the forum administrators and moderators to believe that you’ve not read the rules (not an excuse), don’t feel the rules apply to you (you aren’t that special to anyone but your mother or your dog) or are making a blatant attempt to challenge the rule(s) and/or the forum moderators and administrators (not a good idea). The moderators and administrators of the forum reserve the right to deactivate your membership on the spot without warning or recourse. This dismissal may be temporary or permanent.

While no one is expected to agree with all the rules laid out above, all are expected to follow them. If you have a question about a rule or would like a clarification please feel free to contact an administrator. If, for any, reason you feel that you cannot follow the rules as outlined above please contact an administrator and ask to be removed as a member of the OWWM forums.

By your staying here after the published date of these rules it is understood by the administrators that you have agreed to abide by these rules.
