Need Prep Advice - Pics Inside

just finished power washing the concrete. (still a bit wet in the pics)


I'll be using the Sherwin Williams epoxy kit and doing it myself. The concrete is 2.5yrs old and unsealed.


I need advice on what I should use to clean the following:

Oil Stain remnants to the left and middle of picture. Fire stain top right.

Rust

Tire Marks





Can I get by without using a grinder?
Will muriatic acid suffice?

I would wait for the experts to pop in here but here is what I did:

1. power washed the floor.
2. Bought some "Castrol super de-greaser" and also some easy-off oven cleaner.
3. Sprayed the oil spots with the degreaser - everything else got hit with the oven cleaner.
4. Scrubbed the spots with a hand held brush.
5. Power washed again.
6. Used the supplied cleaner/etcher.
7. Epoxied the floor the next day.

Oh my floor was unsealed and 18 years old.

Looks like you covered the basics, This is in the pores of the concrete.
If you were my customer and I was doing the job I would definitely bust out the grinder. Mainly because it looks like the floor was finished with a steel trowel and that brings the finer cement to the surface sealing the aggregate under the thin cement up top.
By grinding you expose the aggregate allowing the epoxy to bond to a substantially larger more secure component of the concrete, better bond = better longer lasting floor.
The tire marks are from the rubber leaching into the concrete, again this goes more than surface deep. Grind it spend the $$$ & rent a diamond grinder DO NOT keep it in one spot for any length of time you'll have ugly lines or grind marks. Keep pressure light and keep it moving at the start and stop while moving it around, Pain in the **** but only way to get quality job in the end, especially if you are only doing a thin film coating (1-2 coats of epoxy only).

No, I have been using since 2002 and use the Coatings all the time, Atty said it shouldn't be a problem, I asked before I did it.
Monster job listing service is one we were concerned about, but there are many "Monster" companies listed.
Just use the full name to stay clear of legal and since it was registered with the State & Federal agencies.
