Hey Guys - Need some help, the drywallers didn't use bullnose on my posts. As a result, these 90 degree corners are dangerous (I've already turned too quick and split my eyebrow open)

Where can I find some top quality corner guards that are going to protect the corners of my posts from getting beat up and also protect things from damage that run into the posts? (like my face :wtf: or car doors)

Bonus points for padded

Thanks in advance!

Pic might help to make sure talking same thing.
If it’s sharp enough to draw blood guessing they used a metal corner for durability?

Correct - 90 degree corner metal and the texture is rough

Thanks - Those are nice but I should have specified these are drywalled square posts. I’ll post a pic, they are about 6”x6” drywalled.

Here is a picture. You can see the roughness of the texture and the sharpness of the corner.

The post dims are 7"x7". Ideally the corner guards would extend up to 5'-6'

Stainless steel corner guards

that would look cool but I"m also trying to protect other stuff from the corners (like car doors from being creased) Hence why some soft protection on the outside of the corner guards would be ideal

Foam pool noodles cut in half?

Ideally, I'm looking for something like the heavy duty plastic corner guards you see in stores that is like 1/2" thick with some kind of protective foam bonded on the top, like you would use to protect babies from smashing their face on the sharp edges of tables when they are learning to walk...

I might have to create something if it doesn't exist but wanted to see if anyone has seen anything like it before.

The round post guards above are neat - something like this - without the $30/ft price

Anyone have a cheaper source for something like this? this is kind of what I had in mind.

Metal or plastic retainer with rubber over the top. But at $150/8 ft length very pricey

I would try the pool noodles out as a first thing.
Slice them lengthwise and glue them in place.
The neon colors may help you see them.

How about a rubber base cove molding? You could layer it over a light gauge stainless. A quick google and I was able to find a 2.5 inch version but with some care you could trim the others to fit. Not sure how they would "miter" together....but it should be much cheaper. Still gonna hurt but should at least prevent breaking of skin.
Also, regarding the other options - maybe consider breaking it up into car door height and face height rather than the whole 5 or 6 feet? I dunno.

Great Idea!!! I think this will be more economical but will fit the bill nicely and will likely have a better shape to fit the corners than a custom trimmed pool noodle. AND if they get damaged, easy / economical replacement that is readily available.
