Need Recommendation - T Slot Setup for Drill Press Table

My drill press table has X shaped 11/16" T-slot channels. I do have a DP vise but will need to secure it periodically, and I'm sure I'll end up with some things that won't fit in the vise that will need to be secured to the table.

DP is a large floor standing model. Will be used for drilling/fab for automotive projects. Don't plan to use it to mill anything.

I'm thinking I need something like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHARS-52-PC...643917?hash=item4d36d88f4d:g:RAsAAMXQNhdSFM2i

Curious to hear thoughts/recommendations. Would like to spend $100 or less, but can spend more if necessary.

Thanks!

No you don't need all that. I have a bunch of that stuff for the mill and lathe but never use it on the DP. I couple/three bolts with big washers underneath work fine. Clamp it down for a couple of bucks.
What you may want to look into is a cross slide vise. Harbor freight sells them for a good price as does Enco. If you are doing a lot of pattern type drilling these things are just about indispensable for that. I have one that is pretty permanent on my DP.

The cross slide made it a simple task to line up the hole saw with the drill mark. A few cranks of the handles and it was lined up. No hand holding, no funny clamping stuff. The cross slide made this little job easy.

Measure the tee-slots on your table and compare to the tee-slot nut dimensions you are planning to purchase......I have a Craftsman DP that has 5/8" tee-slots but all the nuts I've been able to find stick up above the table surface.....

I have to porter cable DP, and had to grind down the nut, for the same reason you note.

I have the same kit you're looking at and it's money well spent. I've gotten lots of use for what little they cost (a little more that $1 each piece X years you have them).

How big is the table and does it have a center hole? Those strap clamp sets are nice and very useful. I'd also consider a semi precision V block to go with it, if you do much round work.

Thanks for all the input. I ordered the set in the link above.

Table is 16 x 19.5 or something like that.

DP is a Reliant, made in Taiwan, about 25 or 30 years old. Very lightly used, if at all.
